Will it be on Ruth’s summer reading list?: More tales of Bernie Madoff, the womanizer, are emerging as a former CFO with Hadassah reveals that not only did her family get screwed out of their savings, but she had an affair with him. The book, “Madoff’s Other Secret: Love, Money, Bernie, and Me” which details Sheryl Weinstein’s encounters with Madoff, comes out on August 25. We’ll be treated to pictures and according to Bloomberg “some intimate descriptions of Madoff”. We’ll all have to wait to see if those are insights into his personality or his anatomy. Poor Ruth: If Ruth Madoff wants to buy something that costs over $100, the world’s gonna know about it. That’s because she now has to document expenditures over that amount and submit them on a monthly basis to liquidation trustee Irving Picard. And if she buys something that Picard thinks is extravagant, he can take it up with the judge who might hit Ruth with a penalty.
NIMBY!: This morning’s NY Post says that Ruth Madoff, newly permanently ejected from her $7M palatial E.64th street digs, is maybe possibly contemplating the purchase of a condo at the Trafalgar House. (120 E. 90th Street). The only one said to be listed is tiny 481 sq foot unit with an asking price of $465K. Apparently her real estate broker took a look leading to the speculation.
