A piece that we saw on Motley Fool made us wax nostalgic. They talk about an upcoming hedge fund industry shindig called "Hedgestock 2006":
""Hedgestock 2006" is the hedge fund industry’s answer to the "Predator’s Ball" that junk-bond king Drexel Burnham used to throw to woo corporate takeover artists like Michael Milken in the 1980s."
The talk about the "Predator’s Ball" got us all verklempt, since we used to make the pilgrimage — man, they were fun. So, being a chronic packrat, we rooted through our files and found a relic of those good old days….our invitation to the last "Predator’s Ball"…the one that never happened because shortly after the invites went out on Feb 7, 1990 Drexel imploded; sadly the financial bacchanalia was cancelled. And strangely coincidental, it was supposed to be held 16 years ago to the day: April 4 – 7, 1990 so we thought we’d share….
