We had a great laugh reading this morning's Page Six. One of the entries suggests that hooker loving former NY Attorney General turned Governor turned leper Eliot Spitzer, who's trying hard to rehabilitate his guttered reputation, might actually try dipping his wick into politics again by running for NY Attorney General in 2010.  We wonder which flavor of Kool-Aid he's drinking.  No way could he win.  Would he really drag Silda and the kids through inevitably more pain? 

One thing's for sure, if he does again venture into the political arena, it's sure to provide many entertaining headlines….

It's gonna be interesting to see what revelations, if any, come out of soon to be unsealed documents detailing wiretaps in the hooker scandal that brought Ex-governor Eliot "Client #9" Spitzer down.  But what won't be available for voyeuristic eyes (like ours) are the names of the 67 co-Johns.  The NY Times had sued last year to have the documents unsealed:

Even though her disgraced, cheating-with-a-hooker husband — Eliot "Client 9" Spitzer — is toxic on Wall Street, Silda Wall Spitzer is not.  She's landed a job working with Metropolitan Capital's (and "Fast Money" panelist) Karen Finerman at her hedge fund.  She'll be recruiting new investors.  Finerman's husband, Lawrence Golub, is reportedly a long time Spitzer buddy and contributor.

After keeping a relatively low and silent profile, now Ashley Dupre, the high priced hooker that finally took down disgraced former NY Governor / bullying attorney general Eliot Spitzer, is talking to everyone.  She's spoken to People Magazine, on news stands Friday, and a demurely dressed Dupre speaks to Diane Sawyer on 20/20 Friday evening.  According to the NY Post, she's sorry for sleaze bag Spitzer's wife, but as for the sex act itself, it was "strictly business":

The credit crunch may be hurting both Wall Street and Main Street where everyone is tightening their belts, but one group that seems to still be faring rather well: those engaged in the oldest profession.  According to this weekend’s NY Daily News, hookers are so far holding their own, although mirroring the economy in general, there seems to be some economizing going on — trading down from the really expensive Ashley Dupre type hookers that Eliot "Client 9" Spitzer ponied up for to lower price points….

Attorney General  Andrew Cuomo won’t be appealing the case, paving the way for Grasso to keep his  $190 million NYSE payout. Grasso said he had "no malice" against his disgraced nemesis Eliot Spitzer for bringing the case.  At least that’s what he said publicly.  But oh, to be a fly on the wall of the celebration he must have had to hear what he really must be saying; he’d only be human if he had some less kind things to say…..

Former NYSE chairman Dick Grasso got more good news today.  The remaining charges in that pesky compensation lawsuit brought by the former Attorney General/Governor/"Client 9" Eliot Spitzer have been dismissed.  All that stands between Grasso and complete vindication is a possible appeal, which seems like a pretty remote possibility at this point.

“Unless it’s reversed on appeal, Grasso
has won this particular lawsuit, because there’s nothing left,” said Richard
Schulman, a lawyer with Bryan Cave in New York who isn’t involved in the case.

“We’re reviewing the decision,” Alex
Detrick, a spokesman for [Attorney General] Cuomo, said when asked about an
appeal.

We suspect that Cuomo won’t be going there.  Congratulations Mr. Grasso!

The Manhattan madam and former Emperor’s Club hooker (though never with Eliot "Client 9" Spitzer) who was in jail for 18 months and then deported to her native Brazil is thinking of a new career — in politics.  As you may recall, her bust nearly two years ago embarrassed executives like Time Warner CFO Wayne Pace and Barrett Associates CIO Robert Voccola. 

Schwartz has visions of becoming a
  governor in her native Brazil and plans to use her experiences with the
  American justice system to guide her, the brunette bombshell told the Daily
  News Saturday.
 
  "I learned a lot about being a politician when I was in New York because
  I had to learn a lot about the system in America, which is very hard,"
  said Schwartz, 33.
 
  "At some point along the way, I got strong and learned a little
  bit," she added. "Sometimes a bad experience gives good
  training."

And they’re still squeezing headlines out of the tawdry Eliot "Client 9" Spitzer story.  This time a second hooker has stepped forward, corroborating Ashley Dupre’s account of her trysts with the now deposed former NY governor.

The lady of the night, who was intimately
acquainted with the disgraced governor’s pay-for-play sessions, backs up details
given to the feds by Ashley Alexandra Dupre, 22, a bombshell brunette who
allegedly was a favorite Spitzer hooker, the sources said…

The second hooker-informant also told
investigators Spitzer was fond of using sex toys to enhance his own pleasure,
the sources said.

"The full portrait of Mr. Spitzer’s
sexual interests has yet to be told," one source said.
