SAC Capital looking to trade on D.C. intelligence

Posted by WSF On January - 17 - 2007

SteveCohenCapitol-001According to The Hill, Steve Cohen’s SAC Capital is looking to capitalize on D.C. political intelligence by forming an investment team that will make use of what they learn:

“It validates the idea that changes in the legislative and regulatory landscape can yield outsized investment opportunities when a legendary hedge-fund tycoon like Steve Cohen makes a decision to get involved,” said a top analyst in the political-intelligence business who has several hedge-fund clients.

Two employees of the notoriously secretive fund  who have been spotted around town in recent weeks told sources that they had been sent to Washington to form relationships.
