Not even yet at work at his new MSNBC gig, is Dylan Ratigan already pissing off his co-workers?
So sayeth Page Six about the former CNBC anchor:
The acerbic financial guru “has posted ‘Team Ratigan’ signs on the desks he and his team are taking over, as well as in an empty of fice he’s turning into his conference room,” an insider tells us. “Contessa Brewer is the most upset, because not only did she have eyes on that office, she’s the one Ratigan is displacing in the morning.” An MSNBC flack told us: “There are signs that say ‘Team Ratigan,’ but no one is p – - – ed off about it. Everybody is happy to work with Dylan.”

No fly zone: Barack Obama cooly executes a persistent pest invading presidential air space
Shock and awe! What a show of force! During an interview with CNBC’s John Harwood, President Obama cooly executed a pesky fly invading his air space. After he offed his winged nemesis with a loud crack, Harwood, obviously impressed, exclaimed “Nice!”. (Applause from the peanut gallery). Obama: “Now where were we?”. Then Obama said: “That was pretty impressive, wasn’t it? I got the sucker.” (clearly amused / pleased with himself).
Yes he did. The camera panned in on the winged corpse on the rug. (North Korea, Iran, and other foes, you might want to take note.)

Video: Mark Haines vs Barney Frank: One of the best / funniest things we’ve seen on CNBC in a long time
CNBC predictably edited out the best part of the Barney Frank / Mark Haines conversation on executive pay which ended in an on air scuffle: Mark Haines’ last line. After a snippy and annoyed Barney Frank proclaimed the interview over, Mark Haines said: “Fine, we’ll manage without you.” No doubt this will show up later on an unedited YouToube version…..

Video: Ode to Becky Quick
Maria Bartiromo was immortalized in song by The Ramones. Now, from 40 Watt Moon: “Becky Quick, You’re the coolest chick I know”. Personally, we prefer the new ode to Becky, but you can be the judge yourself. The ode to Maria is below.

CNBC “top suits and some on air talent” called on the carpet for Obama-bashing?
That's what Page Six tells us. Rick Santelli apparently wasn't at the meeting; Jim Cramer was.
"It was an intensive, three-hour dinner at 30 Rock which Zucker himself was behind," a source familiar with the powwow told us. "There was a long discussion about whether CNBC has become too conservative and is beating up on Obama too much. There's great concern that CNBC is now the anti-Obama network. The whole meeting was really kind of creepy."
According to CNBC's Brian Steel: "The dinner was to thank CNBC for a job well done in our in-depth reporting throughout the financial crisis. As far as our coverage is concerned, we are built for balance and we are unabashedly pro-investor."

Donny Deutsch: I’ll work for Uncle Sam for $1 a year
In a CNBC discussion on bonus compensation which segued into comments on how the Treasury can't dig up a body to fill the #2 position (because it doesn't pay much and because of the vetting process), Donny Deutsch offered up his services to Uncle Sam for $1 a year.
But would he pass the vetting process? "Absolutely not" he said, laughing hysterically.
Addendum: We've added the video below; the above discussion comes right at the end….

Ruth Madoff makes the pilgrimage to visit her jailed convict hubby
Conjugal visit? We'll guess probably not. But there's Ruth Madoff, clutching a cheapo umbrella and chewing gum (or something similar), as she made her way into the prison facility where Bernie Madoff is stuck behind bars.

The war of the egos continues: The latest Donny Deutsch dig at Charlie Gasparino
Donny Deutsch really doesn’t seem to like Charlie Gasparino. The two got into it on the air on CNBC in February. The snide comments from Deutsch continued yesterday although the latter wasn’t on the air on CNBC with him at the time. According to Page Six:

Life after CNBC: Dylan Ratigan could land at ABC; “he was pissed off he didn’t get Conan O’Brien’s slot since he really wants to do a talk show”
Page Six still believes that former CNBC 'Fast Money' host Dylan Ratigan could very well end up at ABC after his six month noncompete expires….

‘Fast Money’ host Dylan Ratigan quit CNBC; today is said to be his last day
Page Six is reporting the CNBC anchor Dylan Ratigan quit yesterday. He had apparently been feuding with CNBC's VP for strategic programming and development Susan Krakower and other senior executives. His last day is said to be today. CNBC rep Brian Steel wouldn't confirm Ratigan's departure, nor would he address possible contract negotiations. But he did say of the Page Six piece: "The premise of your story is incorrect. Susan Krakower, who oversaw the development of 'Fast Money,' is one of the most talented people at CNBC."
According to the Page Six source, Ratigan's contract expires next Wednesday.

Chris Dodd can breathe more easily; Larry Kudlow’s not going to run against him
We can't imagine that if Kudlow ran he'd have a serious chance, even with Christopher Dodd weakened and under seige. Maybe he sensed that too…..

The fox guarding the hen house: Charlie Rangel is the last person to throwing stones given his own alleged tax issues
As House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel was raging on and on and on to CNBC about how heinous bonuses are on Wall Street and how they're going to tax them all away we were seething about all of the reports of his own alleged tax improprieties (chalked up to "errors"). Then Mark Haines and Erin Burnett cornered him on the issues. He cried bullshit as one would expect. But it was great to see him called out.

Sounds like Jon Stewart’s viewership surged in his grudge match with Jim Cramer
In a Page Six item they tell us that Jon Stewart's brother, Larry Liebowitz (Stewart's real name is Liebowitz) who works at the NYSE, gave him a hand in preparing for his grudge match with Jim Cramer last week. But that's actually not the most interesting part of the article in our opinion. It claims that after the brouhaha, Cramer's ratings dipped a bit from the days before — although they were up from February– but Stewart's surged:

Obama doing Leno on Thursday; a good thing SNL isn’t live on Saturday?
The big guns are out talking about the economy: Last night Ben Bernanke did "60 Minutes" throwing open the doors of The Fed. Next up: President Obama will be doing Leno on Thursday, according to CNBC. In a possible lucky break, according to NBC's web site, Saturday Night Live is a rerun on 3/21 (Steve Martin / Jason Mraz, which originally aired 1/31/09) so there won't be a timely parody of either Obama or Bernanke. Too bad.

Video: Jon Stewart / Jim Cramer rumble: intro and outtakes
Video: The Jon Stewart / Jim Cramer rumble: Here it is: no blood was spilled

In last night's much anticipated heavyweight bout between Jon Stewart and Jim Cramer no physidal punches were thrown and no blood was spilled. It was a calm discussion of Cramer's antics, and the failure of financial reporting in general. They agreed they all need to do better.
Cramer came out and Stewart started with "How the hell did we end up here?".
It ended with the promise of Cramer doing better so that Stewart "can go back to making fart noises and funny faces". They shook hands. And the fight was over….
The intro is funny, including clips from Cramer's earlier in the day appearance on Martha Stewart's show. ("Bern after Pleading")

Bernie Madoff officially pleads guilty; Was this his last big public perp walk?
That's Bernie Madoff above, as he entered court this morning, for what could be his final big perp walk on the outside, assuming he doesn't somehow get out on bail. Only the first few seconds of the clip are Bernie, the rest is CNBC babble.
That's got to be relief for his co-op neighbors who have been beseiged by paparazzi waiting for a glimpse of the scammer. That relief could be short lived, if as we expect, the focus moves to Ruth. We still think that she and the kids are in it up to their eyeballs. BUt that's just our opinion.
According to CNBC, Bernie is in court and has pleaded guilty to all charges.
