Bernie “The Bruiser” Madoff got into a prison-yard tussle with a fellow inmate over — of all things — the stock market, eyewitnesses told The Post.
And, by inmates’ accounts, the 71-year-old Ponzi schemer came out the winner.
Madoff, serving 150 years at the Butner, NC, federal prison, was heard last week getting into a heated debate over the state of the market with another senior-citizen jailbird…..

Carlyle Group co-founder David Rubenstein said the private equity industry will grow larger than before its bubble burst, as it transforms itself over the next two to three years.
Private equity firms struck ever larger deals during the 2005-07 period, fueled by cheap debt. But since the credit crisis, they have been unable to strike deals of such scale and have had problems keeping their portfolio companies healthy….

The claims are contained in filings related to Lehman Brothers Holdings Chapter 11 administration in the US.
The document shows that Italian banker Riccardo Banchetti, the former joint chief executive of Lehman in Europe and the Middle East, is claiming $26,040,000 (£16.4m), despite having held the job for only a few weeks before Lehman went into bankruptcy last year. Mr Banchetti, who did not move to Nomura following Lehman’s collapse, is claiming for bonus awards and stock options going back five years…..
The size of the claims from the six bankers is l;ikely to antagonise the thousands of Lehman staff who lost their jobs when the bank collapsed in the world’s largest bankruptcy…..
