A posh midtown Manhattan condo—the remaining residential property owned by disgraced lawyer Marc Dreier, who pleaded guilty to charges that he defrauded hedge funds of $700 million—will be auctioned off on July 21.
The 7,000-plus square foot, 34th floor luxury apartment at One Beacon Court, headquarters of Bloomberg LP, was put on the block about two weeks ago by Long Island-based auction company David R. Maltz & Co. The auction firm was recently retained by the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts to auction of Mr. Dreier’s residential properties…..
London Drops Out of Top Ten Expensive Cities; Tokyo Leads List – Bloomberg
London dropped from third to sixteenth place in a survey of the world’s most expensive cities, taking it out of the top ten for the first time since 2001, after the pound declined against the U.S. dollar and rental prices in the U.K. capital fell.
Tokyo replaced Moscow as the world’s most expensive city for expatriates and Osaka moved to number two after the yen “strengthened considerably” against the dollar, according to Mercer LLC’s Cost of Living Survey. The Russian capital, which was rated the world’s most expensive city for expatriates since 2006, slipped to third place….
